Vision - To develop and promote language and communication across the school

At Queen's Drive, the development of language is of high priority. Word Aware is a programme used across the school to teach vocabulary to our children. 

                                   

                

 

 

 

 

Each day, children are 'taught' a new word as part of the programme. These words are then embedded or 'activated' and reviewed each day. The following lists are focus words for the current / recent term for each year group. Parents can help children by talking about and practising saying these words at home.

Alongside this specific teaching, children are also exposed to a wide range of other vocabulary through their lessons and reading over the week.
