IT'S THE SUMMER TERM!!!

It is fantastic to see warmer weather and sunny days. We have a short but busy term.

We are pleased to welcome Mrs Khan as a Teaching assistant in Voles class. Sadly, though, at the end of this half-term, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Jennings, who has worked as a teaching assistant at the school for 19 years. We wish her well in the future.

Please see the year group newsletters with more details of the topics that the children will be learning this term.

CURRICULUM

You will be receiving a curriculum newsletter for your child's year group which will give more detail about what they are learning this term along with dates for activities. Look out for these via Parentmail.

UNIFORM

Please remember to dress for the weather! Keep an eye out for rain forecasts and send a raincoat when needed.

PE kit reminder - navy and white is the uniform for PE.

LIVE MUSIC AT QDIS!

We have a very exciting opportunity for our KS1 children coming up next week. We will be having a live performance by Britten Sinfonia of 'Geoffrey gets the jitters'. This will be a fantastic experience for children to hear live orchestral music and join in with the singing. Ask them to sing a Geoffrey song for you - they are very catchy!

WATER BOTTLES

Children should bring a named water bottle every day. Remember - NO juice, just WATER.

BOOK BAGS AND READING

Children should bring a book bag (NO BACK PACKS please) with their reading books inside every day please. Children will read these in school and get them changed.

Remember to complete your reading at home diary at least 3 times a week - rewards are given out at the end of term.

80TH VE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

We will be marking the 80th anniversary of VE day by inviting children to wear red, white and / or blue clothes on Tuesday 6th May. We will also be having a picnic lunch on this day.

ATTENDANCE

Well done to all those who received an attendance certificate for last term. We are working really hard to continue to improve our overall school attendance this year.  Children will receive a sticker on a Friday for a full week at school and there will be half termly awards.

When should a child be kept off school? See this advice from the NHS to help you decide if your child is too unwell for school.
