Evaluating Provision
& Staff Training

At QDI, we are committed to continually improving the quality of education and care we provide for all children. High‑quality provision is supported through ongoing staff training and careful evaluation of practice, ensuring that teaching, learning and support meet the needs of every pupil.

Staff training and development

We prioritise professional development for all staff to ensure that practice remains current, effective and responsive to children’s needs. Training is carefully planned to support school priorities and includes:

  • Regular whole‑staff and phase‑based training

  • Professional development linked to phonics, early reading, SEND, safeguarding and behaviour

  • Opportunities for staff to develop subject leadership skills

  • Access to external training and guidance where appropriate

The impact of training is monitored through professional discussions, observations and reflection on classroom practice, ensuring that learning from training leads to improved outcomes for children. This approach reflects national expectations that staff training should have a clear impact on teaching quality and pupil progress.

Evaluating our provision

We regularly evaluate the effectiveness of our provision to ensure children receive the best possible start to their education. Evaluation includes:

  • Reviewing children’s progress and attainment over time

  • Observing teaching and learning to understand how effectively the curriculum is delivered

  • Listening to the views of staff, children and parents

  • Identifying strengths and areas for development as part of ongoing self‑evaluation

Findings from evaluation inform staff training, resourcing and curriculum development. Leaders focus on the impact of systems and processes rather than paperwork, aligning with inspection expectations that schools should evaluate how provision works in practice and supports continuous improvement.

Supporting continuous improvement

By combining targeted training with regular evaluation, we ensure that our provision continues to evolve and improve. This cycle helps us to:

  • Maintain high expectations for all children

  • Respond quickly to emerging needs

  • Ensure consistency and continuity across the school

Our aim is to create a confident, reflective staff team and a learning environment where every child is supported to thrive.
